Embossing auf Porzellan ~ Embossing on porcelain {DIY}

Schreiben auf Porzellan – nächstes Level 
Bei meinen Streifzügen auf Instagram bin ich über eine weitere Variante der Porzellangestaltung gestoßen: embosste* Schriftzüge! So was von toll! Das musste ich natürlich direkt auch ausprobieren.
*(wie sagt man's eigentlich korrekt auf Deutsch?) 
Bei Liz, wo ich die Inspiration gefunden habe, gibt es auch tolle Videos dazu (Links zu ihrem Blog und Instagram siehe unten).
Ich jedenfalls suche jetzt noch weitere Gegenstände und versuche es auch noch auf Glas.


Writing on porcelain – next level
While flipping through Instagram I found another variant of decorating porcelain: embossed lettering! So beautiful! And I had to try it immediately.
However, Liz, where I found the inspiration, is a pro and she also made lovely videos on the process (links to her blog post and instagram see below).
I will search for further objects and will also try it on glass.

Materialliste:

– hitzebeständiges Objekt

– Embossingstift

– Embossingpuder (keine spezielle Marke, nehmt was ihr gerade da habt)

– ein Bogen Papier, in der Mitte gefaltet

– Embossingfön

– trockener Pinsel

Wie habe ich es gemacht:
Zuerst das Porzellan reinigen (ich habe die Oberfläche mit Isopropanol 70% Alkohol abgerieben), dann mit dem Embossingstift euren Schriftzug aufbringen. Anschließend großzügig das Embossingpuder darüber streuen. Legt aber vorher unbedingt einen Bogen Papier unter eure Arbeit, um das überschüssige Pulver aufzufangen und wieder in die Dose zurück zu schütten (das gefaltete Papier dient als Trichter). Mit einem trockenen Pinsel das Pulver von den Stellen wischen, wo es nicht hingehört, und fönt den Schriftzug bis das Pulver schmilzt.
Sollte doch etwas Pulver eingebrannt sein, wo man es nicht will, kann man das mit einem Skalpell abkratzen. Somit stellen wir fest, der Schriftzug ist nicht kratzfest! Aber wasserfest ist er und für schonende Handwäsche geeignet (in die Spülmaschine würde ich das verzierte Porzellan nicht tun und definitiv nicht in die Mikrowelle).

Material:

– Heatproof object

– Embossing glue pen

– Embossing powder (no specific brand, just take what you have at hand)

– Large sheet of paper, folded half way

– Embossing heat tool

– Dry paintbrush

How to:
Clean the porcelain (I used Isopropanol 70% alcohol), write your lettering with the embossing glue pen, and then pour the embossing powder generously over the writing, however, before doing so, place the sheet of paper under your work, to collect the excess powder and transfer it back into the container (the paper is your funnel). Then use the paintbrush to brush off any excess powder from the surface (because it would also melt) and use the heat tool until the powder melts. 
If there are spots with melted powder, where you don't want it, just scratch it off with a cutter knife. This brings us to the conclusion that the embossed lettering is not scratchproof, however it is waterproof and I recommend to gentle handwash your piece and not to put it into the dishwasher, just in case, and definitely don't use it in the microwave.
