Gipswindlichter #2 * Plaster lights #2 {DIY}

Im Oktober habe ich ja bereits meine ersten Gipswindlichter gebastelt, mit goldenem und silbernem Innenleben *click* (mit Anleitung).

In October I made my first plaster lights with golden and silver inner face *click* (with tutorial).

Heute nochmal eine kupferfarbene Variante. Die gefällt mir sogar noch besser, das Kupfer hat so einen schönen warmen Ton. Beim nächsten Mal, werde ich aber den Gips vorher mal grundieren, denn die Oberfläche ist sehr saugfähig und vielleicht glänzt der Metalllack dann besser, jetzt schimmert er ja eher matt.

This time I made a copper version which I like best, it has such a warm touch. However, next time I will prime the plaster before applying the varnish, because its surface is very absorbent. And maybe the result will be more glossy than now with it's matt finish.

Gipswindlichter * Plaster lights {DIY}

Am vergangenen Wochenende waren wir auf einen Geburtstag eingeladen und ich brauchte ein kleines Geschenk. Wie passend, dass ich in einer Zeitschrift wunderschöne Gipswindlichter gesehen habe. Das perfekte Geschenk!
Von den Goldenen habe ich drei Stück gemacht zum Verschenken und ein Silbernes für mich selbst.
Die Lichter sind einfach zu machen, nur leider sind die Fotos vom Making of nicht so toll geworden.

Last weekend I needed a birthday present. I found some nice plaster lights in a magazine, which just were perfectly suited as a gift!
I made three golden ones to give away and one silver to keep for myself.
They were very easy to make, unfortunately the images of the making of are not so good...

Man braucht:
- Luftballons
- Gipsbinden
- Gold- oder Silberspray

Ich hatte zufällig im Altpapier noch einen Karton und eine Rundstange gab es auch noch im Bestand. Die Machart ist denkbar einfach: Luftballons aufblasen, die Gipsbinde in kleinere Stücke schneiden und kurz in Wasser tunken, dann um den Luftballon herum platzieren. Luftballon aufhängen, 2 Tage trocknen lassen und dann abschließend innen mit Gold- oder Silberspray einsprühen (am besten draußen), nochmals kurz trocknen lassen und FERTIG :-)

Material you need:
- balloons
- plaster bandage
- gold or silver spray paint

In the waste-paper I had a carton box and a wooden rod were also found in the stock. The making is child's play: blow up some balloons, cut the plaster bandage into small pieces and dip them in some water, then place them around the balloon. Hang the balloons and let them dry for 2 days. Finally you spray the inner part with the gold or silver spray paint (do it outside), let it dry for a short time and - READY!

Außerdem gab es noch einen schönen Himmel diese Woche und heute einen Schwarm Kraniche, die nach Süden geflogen sind.

Furthermore there was a beautiful sky this week and today a flock of cranes on their way to the South.
