Work in progress ~ Halstuch * Shawl #1

Ich habe etwas Neues auf den Nadeln, ein Halstuch, welches ich auf dem Stoffmarkt gesehen habe - wie hier schon angedeutet. Ich finde die Kombination von rechten und linken Partien sehr schön. Es wächst sehr schnell, so kann ich es bestimmt schon bald fertig zeigen.
I have got something new on the needles, a shawl, which I spotted on the fabric market - as foretold here. I really like the combination of right and left stitches. It grows very quickly so I guess I can show the finished one very soon.

Die Grautöne variieren auf den Fotos - es ist aber das dunklere Anthrazit. Und da man das Muster sehr schnell auswendig kann - strickt es sich schön nebenbei beim Fernsehen.
The grey shades vary on the photos, however, it's the darker anthracite. And as the pattern is very easy to memorise, it's a relaxed knitting while watching TV.

Überall blühen ja jetzt die herrlichen Magnolien. Meine ist noch recht klein und hat so nach und nach ihre Blüten geöffnet. Leider ist diese Pracht nur von kurzer Dauer... Da ich die Bilder über einen Zeitraum von 3 Wochen gemacht habe, gibt es ein paar mehr zu zeigen ;-)

The beautiful magnolias are blooming everywhere. Mine is still quite small and slowly opened its blossoms. Unfortunately the splendour is only of short duration. As I made the photos over a period of 3 weeks there are some more to show ;-)

Stoffmarkt * Happy Shopping

Heute war Stoffmarkt in Wuppertal :-)  Wir gehen immer sehr gerne auf den Stoffmarkt - wegen der Atmosphäre, die ganzen vielen Stände mit abertausenden Stoffen und das Gewusel. Herrlich! Das ist meine Ausbeute, auch wenn ich noch nicht ganz genau weiß, was daraus wird - aber das Lager ist aufgefüllt ;-)

Today has been fabric market in Wuppertal :-) We always enjoy going to the fabric market - we like the atmosphere, all the stalls with thousands and thousands of fabrics and all the hustle and bustle. Wonderful! This is what I bought - even though I don't know yet what I will make of it, anyway, the supplies have been filled up ;-)

Aus der grauen Wolle werde ich ein Halstuch stricken - die Anleitung gab es gratis dazu. Ich denke, das ist ein schnelles Projekt, welches ich bald hier zeigen kann. Und aus anderen Wolle werden sehr wahrscheinlich auch Tücher...

From the grey yarn I will knit a shawl - the tutorial was included in the price. I think it will be a quick project which I will show here soon. And from the other yarn, hm, probably more shawls...

Besonders habe ich mich über die Snap Buttons Toolbox gefreut, die gab es für weniger als 50 % vom Ursprungspreis, da musste ich zuschlagen.
In particular I was pleased to find a Snap Button Toolbox for a real bargain - less then 50 % of the original price, so I had to buy it.

Ich weiß gar nicht, kann man sagen, dass Sonnenaufgänge schöner sind als Sonnenuntergänge? Hmm, nein, ich glaube nicht - jeder ist einzigartig und immer wieder eine Freude zu betrachten. So auch dieser Sonnenaufgang :-)

I don't really know, are sunrises more beautiful than sunsets? Hmm, no, I don't think so. Each is unique and always great to watch - as this one here :-)

Mittwochs mag ich * On Wednesdays I like #4

Fotografieren mag ich, Filter ausprobieren, Australien und seine Flora & Fauna, und diese Interessen gehen sehr gut Hand in Hand ;-) Hier habe ich einen Polfilter eingesetzt (der die Reflektionen auf der Wasseroberfläche eliminiert). Aufgenommen habe ich das Krokodil im Windjana Gorge National Park, King Leopold Ranges, WA. Sieht doch witzig aus, wie es so im Wasser schwebt...

I like photography, trying filters, Australia and its flora & fauna, and those interests accompany each other very well ;-) Here I tried a polarising filter which takes away the reflection on water. This croc was taken in the Windjana Gorge National Park, King Leopold Ranges, WA. Doesn't it look funny how it floats in the water?

Die wunderbaren Schachbrettblumen {Fritillaria meleagris} blühen zur Zeit wieder (wie ja quasi fast alles derzeit ;-) und ich konnte nicht anders, ich musste eine ganze Serie schießen.

The wonderful chequered lilies {Fritillaria meleagris} are blooming at the moment (as indeed almost everything currently ;-) and I couldn't resist to shoot a whole series.

Australien hat ja unter anderem auch viele schöne Vögel. Der Kakadu hat ganz eitel für die Kamera posiert ;-)
Australia has -among other things- many beautiful birds. The cockatoo was posing very vainly for the camera ;-)

Himmel Wolkengestalt * Skywatch cloud figure

Schon länger habe ich keinen schönen Himmel gepostet - entweder war die Kamera/das Handy nicht zur Hand oder es gab keinen schönen Himmel zu fotografieren ;-)
Aber heute schaute ich aus dem Bürofenster, sah diese Wolke und dachte direkt: Die sieht aus wie eine Meerjungfrau ;-) Wer sieht sie noch?
Tipp: rechts der Kopf, links die Schwanzflosse...

It's quite a while I posted a photo of a nice sky. Either I had no camera at hand or there was nothing to shoot ;-) But today I looked out of the office window, saw this cloud and immediately thought: This looks like a mermaid ;-) Who else sees it?
Tip: on the right the head, on the left the tail...

Wie auch am vergangenen Mittwoch, habe ich wieder auf ein paar australische Erinnerungsfotos rausgekramt. Schon von klein an mag ich Geckos und Echsen sehr gerne. Diese hier habe ich bei einer Wanderung im Wilpena Pound, Flinders Ranges, South Austrlia entdeckt.

Like last Wednesday, I found some more Australian photos. Since my early childhood I like geckos. This one I discovered while hiking through Wilpena Pound, Flinders Ranges, South Australia.
